Timeline for IB Diploma program application process - class of 2028

Section One (Overview of the IB Courses Acceptance Requirements)

• The Acceptance requirements for incoming IB students (class of 2028) are up-to-date - for the class of 2028. 

Section Two (IB Sciences)

• All 10th grade students, please know you must be in Honors Biology - if you intend to take any of the IB Science courses.

• Please verify, with Ms. Oseguera, you are in the correct 10th grade Biology class; it will be either "10th grade Biology" or "10th grade Honors Biology."

• Students in 10th grade Physics are on track to be enrolled in IB Biology HL.

Section Three (Large Group Meetings)

• We had our 1st large group meeting on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026.

• On Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, we will have our 2nd of two large group meeting.

• On Monday, April 20th, 2026 there will be a presentation and Q&A on AST's three IB Math options: IB Math Application and Interpretations SL, IB Math Analysis and Approaches SL, and IB Math Analysis and Approaches HL.

Section Four (IB Gallery)

• Date: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 - IB Gallery 2026 

Section Five (Individual Support)

• After April 22nd, 2026,  I (Mr. Dobbe) will be available for individual meetings with students and parents.

Section Six (Submission of IB application / registration form and the decision timeline)

• After the 2nd large group meeting, students will be given a form that serves as their application to the IB courses they are interested in being enrolled in.

• The deadline to submit this form will be May 15th, 2026.

• Students will see the initial decisions of the IB courses students are enrolled in when student schedules are available on Powerschool - prior to August, 2026.

• Requests for IB schedule changes can be made up to August 14, 2026.
