Cabinets & Countertops

These standards are by no means an exhaustive list and is meant as a base standard of work. Unique situations will arise, please direct any questions towards the Project Manager or Superintendent.

KITCHEN CABINETS

Temporary stilt should be installed across dishwasher location with accessible screws or pin nails for easy removal once the countertop has been properly set

Cut the filler strip to 5/8" to ensure the kitchen cabinet drawer is not obstructed by window trim

Clean returns are expected around the lattice & base of kitchen island

Scribe molding should be installed to cover any significant gaps and create a clean transition between elements.

Kitchen cabinet installation layout is the same for all floor plans (dishwasher located directly across from range)

BATHROOM CABINETS

Install double-sink vanity cabinet in master bath, which has standing/tiled shower.

Master bath cabinets should be screwed into wall studs, properly shimmed, and have scribe molding implemented to eliminate gaps

Guest bath cabinets should be screwed into wall studs, properly shimmed, and have scribe molding implemented to eliminate gaps

Cabinet toe kick installed with glue/caulking and 23-gauge pin nails

Clean hole(s) cut in back of cabinet for plumbing

Ensure baseboards meet cabinets neatly

Center of faucet hole for bathroom vanity countertop should measure 2.5" from sink edge (and centered on the width of the sink)

LAUNDRY ROOM CABINETS

Each laundry cabinet is installed to a 19" total width off of side wall

Each laundry cabinet is installed 52" from floor to bottom

Each laundry cabinet must be secured into wall studs for sufficient support

COUNTERTOPS

Ensure a 30" clearance width for range

Countertops must be tight to adjoining walls with clean caulking between the elements.

One hole should be cut for single-handle faucets
