Preparing for the APWH Exam!
Review Materials - this is the link to get to practice questions!!!!
1. Make sure you know your basic eras - look at the big picture (and small picture) notes for each of our units, most books (Strayer included) has some nice overviews to his units in his book as well. Also look at some other teachers' review materials. Other sites also have nice thematic and chronological overviews and can be found at Useful links for APWHIn particular look at Bridging World History and World History for us All websites.
2. Study your regions - you have the regions map. Also take time to familiarize yourself with the major cities (on one of the map handouts) and to skim over the maps across times. If some of those major civilizations are unfamiliar, let me know.
3. Know your basic belief systems.
4. Do practice essays (Sample CCOT Essay Questions and Sample Comparative Essay Questions) questions on the website- but only outline them, as a means to determine what you need to study. Again, if you draw a major blank email or ask in class. Make sure you try the questions from various possible regions. Reread sections on website on how to write them.
