Ajahn Chah அஜான் சா

அஜான் சா (1918- 1992) தாய்லாந்து நாட்டில் வாழ்ந்த பெயர் பெற்ற பௌத்த மதப் பிக்கு. தாய்லாந்தில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் அஜான் என்ற வார்த்தை ஆசாரிய என்ற வார்த்தையின் திரிபு.

Once there was a layman who came to Ajahn Chah and asked him who Ajahn Chah was. Ajahn Chah, seeing that the spiritual development of the individual was not very advanced, pointed to himself and said, "This, this is Ajahn Chah."

ஒருமுறை ஒரு உபாசகன் (பௌத்த இல்லறத்தார்) அஜான் சாவிடம் அஜான் சா யார் என்று கேட்டார். அவருடைய ஆன்மீக வளர்ச்சி முதிர்ச்சியற்ற நிலையை உணர்ந்த அஜான் சா தன்னைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டி "இதோ, இது தான் அஜான் சா!" என்றார்.

On another occasion, someone else asked Ajahn Chah the same question. This time, however, seeing that the questioner’s capacity to understand the Dhamma was higher, Ajahn Chah answered by saying "Ajahn Chah? There is NO Ajahn Chah."

மற்றொருமுறை வேறொருவர் அதே கேள்வியை அஜான் சா விடம் கேட்டார். இந்த முறை தருமத்தை புரிந்து கொள்ளும் தன்மை கேட்டவரிடம் மிகுதியாகத் தெரிந்ததால் அஜான் சா அவருக்குக் கொடுத்த பதில் "அஜான் சா வா? அப்படி யாரும் இல்லையே".

Better to begin practice without delay. I am like a good friend inviting you to go somewhere. Do not hesitate, just get going. You won’t regret it.

நான் இதுவரை சொன்னதெல்லாம் வெறும் வார்த்தைகளே. யாராவது என்னைப் பார்க்க வந்தால் நான் எதாவது சொல்லியாக வேண்டுமல்லவா! ஆனால் இவைகளைப் பற்றியெல்லாம் அதிகம் பேசாமல் இருப்பதுதான் சரி. தாமதிக்காமல் உடனே செயற்படுவதே சிறந்தது. நான் எங்காவது செல்வதற்கு உங்களை அழைக்க வந்த நல்ல நண்பனைப் போன்றவன். தயங்காமல் உடனே புறப்படுங்கள். அதற்காக நீங்கள் வருத்தப்பட மாட்டீர்கள்.
