Zoom
YYPS eLearning Guide
Introduction
Each class will be assigned with one Zoom meeting link and a corresponding password. All lessons will be conducted through the same Zoom meeting. The link and password will not be changed and will be used until school suspension ends.
To show proper etiquette and to maintain in-class participation, students are required to turn on their cameras during lessons. They also need to turn on their microphones when being asked to respond. Therefore, please prepare for your child a device with a functioning camera and microphone before school begins.
Non-Chinese Students (NCS), students in the English Recovery Program and students in Math small groups will receive another meeting link and password for the mentioned special lessons. The meeting link and password for special classes will remain the same until school resumes as well.
Teaching and learning delivered through online lessons will align with the scope of our usual face-to-face lessons. Therefore, all subject content presented in online lessons may appear in the assessment scope. When school resumes, teachers may proceed with the lesson progression without revisiting subject content taught online.
Attendance
Students are required to attend all lessons; attendance for each lesson will be recorded. If your child cannot attend a lesson, he / she will be considered as absent and you should follow the normal procedure of leave application (i.e. email the class teachers or call the office in advance).
eHomework Table
The eHomework Table for all classes will be updated by 2:30 p.m. daily. Parents will be given a link to access the eHomework Table.
Procedures for Homework Submission
Teachers will assign homework through Google Classroom.
Students should complete and submit the assignment on Google Classroom before the due date.
If the assignment involves working on hard copy worksheets or workbooks, students (or parents) should take a photo or scan their work and upload it to Google Classroom so that teachers can proceed with marking.
After marking, students will receive feedback and are required to do corrections if needed.
For P1-P2 students, teachers will give students ample time for handing in homework, since they will require assistance from parents. More details will be discussed during the parents workshop on 25 August.
Missing homework
Parents will receive emails from Google Classroom platform with summaries of their children’s missing homework. After linking your email to your child’s Google Classroom, you may adjust the settings and choose to receive the summaries daily or weekly.
Starting from October, students will receive a 1 conduct mark deduction everytime he/she fails to hand in 3 pieces of homework (as usual). Again, more details will be discussed in the parents workshop on 25 August.
