Enhancement Team

Our school offers 7 STEAM teams to P4-P6 students, providing opportunities for students to develop their skills and interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through hands-on activities and projects. Our STEAM teams aim to foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills among students. Through participating in STEAM teams, students will learn to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts, develop a growth mindset, and gain confidence in their abilities. Our STEAM teams are led by experienced teachers and professionals in the field, providing students with guidance and mentorship throughout the program. 

1. Yuen Yuen Connect: This team aims to promote social awareness and community engagement through STEAM projects. Students will learn to leverage technology and engineering to design and implement solutions to address community needs.

• Stage 1: Identify community needs and brainstorm STEAM-based solutions, focusing on the ideation and planning process.

• Stage 2: Develop technical skills in engineering and technology to design and prototype solutions for community challenges.

• Stage 3: Implement and evaluate the developed solutions, refining and iterating the projects for maximum impact.

2. Special Production Team (SPT): This team focuses on multimedia production, including audio and video production, photography, and graphic design. Students will learn to use various tools and techniques to create high-quality multimedia products.

• Stage 1: Learn the basics of multimedia production, including audio and video editing, photography, and graphic design.

• Stage 2: Develop advanced techniques for creating multimedia content, including storytelling, branding, and visual communication.

• Stage 3: Collaborate on a final multimedia project, showcasing the skills and techniques learned throughout the year.

3. Tello Drone Team: This team focuses on drone technology, including design, programming, and flight operations. Students will learn to build and program drones and apply them in various contexts.

• Stage 1: Introduction to drone technology, including drone components, programming basics, and flight control systems.

• Stage 2: Develop skills in drone programming and customization, including autonomous flight and sensor integration.

• Stage 3: Apply drone technology to real-world scenarios, such as aerial photography, mapping, and search and rescue missions.

4. Amazing Engineering Team: This team focuses on engineering design and prototyping, including materials science, structural engineering, and mechanical design. Students will learn to design and build structures and machines using various materials and tools.

• Stage 1: Explore engineering principles, including material science, structural analysis, and mechanical design concepts.

• Stage 2: Apply engineering concepts to design and prototype structures, machines, and devices using various materials and tools.

• Stage 3: Collaborate on a final engineering project, refining and iterating on designs for maximum functionality and performance.

5. Coding Team: This team focuses on developing coding and programming skills, including web development, app development, and game design. Students will learn to code using various programming languages and tools.

• Stage 1: Learn programming fundamentals, including programming languages, data structures, and algorithms.

• Stage 2: Develop skills in web development, app development, and game design using various programming languages and tools.

• Stage 3: Collaborate on a final coding project, showcasing the skills and techniques learned throughout the year.

6. RoboMaster Team: This team focuses on robotics and engineering design, utilizing the RoboMaster platform. Students will learn to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in various challenges.

• Stage 1: Learn the fundamentals of robotics using the RoboMaster platform, including mechanical design, electrical systems, and programming.

• Stage 2: Develop advanced robotic skills, such as sensor integration, autonomous navigation, and strategic planning for competitions.

• Stage 3: Participate in RoboMaster competitions, showcasing the skills and teamwork developed throughout the year.

7. Design and Crafting Team: This team focuses on art and design, including digital design, 3D printing, and crafting. Students will learn to use various tools and techniques to create high-quality designs and products.

• Stage 1: Explore art and design principles, including digital design, 3D printing, and crafting techniques.

• Stage 2: Develop advanced design and crafting skills, focusing on creativity, problem-solving, and craftsmanship.
