This is your second assessed piece of writing, and as with the Academic Profile assignment, it is an opportunity for you to put into practice all of the ideas and concepts that we've been studying on the course. There is a more detailed checklist below, but in a nutshell the assignment is concerned with your ability to carry out background reading and reference the ideas of others, demonstrate linguistic range and accuracy, build an argument and write smooth, easy to read text. So, simple really! In this second assignment there is more emphasis on exploring two or more sides of a controversial topic. To do well you will need to demonstrate that you can recognise and present various points of view in your own words.
Assignment length: 1,500 words
