The tourism industry represents a vast range of day-to-day operations, management, marketing, logistics, planning and development. It also represents hospitality and events sector businesses and many other indirectly related businesses and organisations that support the supply and demand of tourism-related products and services. We also live in an area rich in tourism and therefore studying this course will not only prepare you for further study within this sector at University or College but also prepare you for employment within the local Pembrokeshire area, Wales and the wider world.

Global Destinations (NEA)
Adapting to Change in the Tourism Industry (NEA)
Extended Certificate (equivalent to A2):
Wales as a Tourist Destination (Externally assessed NEA)
Planning and Running an Event (NEA)
Digital Marketing in Tourism and Events (NEA)
Mixture of exam, externally assessed NEA and internally assessed NEA units
There will be one traditional style exam at the end of Year 12, this can be done either on paper or on-line in the exam hall.
One unit is assessed via an exam board set scenario that is completed within the classroom over a series of lessons then sent off to the exam board for marking. (A type of examined coursework task)
The other four units are all NEAs and will be internally assessed and then a sample will be selected by the exam board for moderation.
Apply for a range of tourism and business based courses at University or College such as; Events Management, Tourism Marketing, Hotel & Hospitality Management, Sports Tourism, Business Management and much, much more.
Seek employment in a variety of tourism based roles such as: Visitor Attraction Supervisor, Cabin Crew, Resort Representative, Customer Service Agent, Tour Guide.
There is no requirement to have studied a tourism or business course in Year 11.
Generally students wishing to follow this course should have achieved at least 5 A*-C grades at GCSE.
Students who are prepared to work hard and have an interest in the Tourism industry would be suitable for this course.
This course combines particularly well with Business, IT, Geography, International Hospitality, PE, and Media.
