History is considered by the Russell group of Universities (the Best Universities in Britain) as one of the best A Level subjects to study as it gives students the opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and it prepares them well for a wide range of university courses.
Through the study of History, students gain the ability to make sense of events in an ever changing world. They are given the opportunity to develop skills that will be with them for life – the ability to explain, analyse data / sources, research independently, ask relevant significant questions and to think critically and reflectively.
History A Level prepares students well for their future and gives students the skills that employers want: independent thinkers, disciplined, good at problem solving and the skills of being able to focus on the essentials rather than the trivial.
History A Level is also beneficial for students wanting to pursue a career in Law, Medicine, Business, Finance, Accountancy, Tourism, Town planning, Journalism and Teaching to name a few.
