Why should I study this course?
ICT is at the heart of everyday life, at home, work and in our leisure time. From computer graphics and control systems to communications and gaming, ICT has an ever increasing role to play. Students who take the Level 3 Cambridge Technical are given the opportunity to demonstrate and develop practical application of skills, knowledge and understanding in current and exciting units. They are encouraged to be imaginative, innovative, and creative whilst independently producing solutions for business related tasks.

Unit 2 - Information Systems
Unit 19 - Spreadsheet Modelling
Introductory Diploma (equivalent to A2):
Unit 23 - Database Design
Unit 29 - The Business Environment
Unit 43 - Understanding Social Media for Business
How will I be assessed?
100% coursework
Each unit is internally assessed and then externally moderated by a visiting moderator from the exam board

Apply for a range of ICT and Business based courses at University
Seek employment in a variety of ICT based roles such as: Graphic Designer, Computer Games Design, Video Editor, Web Designer, Database Administration, Information Systems Manager, IT Consultant, IT Technical Support, Systems Developer
Recommended Entry Requirements & Additional Relevant Information:
Ideally students will have achieved at least a grade C in GCSE ICT.
Students who did not study ICT at GCSE may be considered for the course provided they achieve at least a grade “C” in Maths and English, however where this is the case advice must be sought from Mr Hamilton in advance of making option choices.
Students who are prepared to work hard and have an interest in ICT would be suitable for this course provided they have achieved the grades at GCSE normally required for entry onto 6th form courses.
This course combines particularly well with Business, Maths, Sciences, Geography, Music Technology and Media.
