Unit one is all about re interpreting a text that you study. You must take an extract from the text and reinterpret the way it is performed, but changing the style, adding scenes, changing the perspective etc.

This is the written element of year 12, and requires you to sit a 1 and a half hour long paper about A View from the Bridge (a text we study) answering questions from the view point of an actor, designer and director.

Universities and employers look for a broad background of subjects. Future jobs include: Actor, Drama therapist, Stage Manager, Lighting Designer, Teacher Costume Design, Director, etc.

Unit three is all about your performance and devising skills. You will need to produce a piece of devised theatre based on one of the four stimuli given by WJEC, and an extract from an existing text, performed in a different style.

This is the written element of year 13, and requires you to sit a 2 and a half hour long paper about Sweeny Todd and The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning (two texts we study) answering questions from the view point of an actor, designer and director. You will also look at the social historical and cultural context of the piece, and the influence of contemporary theatre practice.
*To complete Unit 2 and Unit 4 you will be expected to attend trips to see some live theatre performances to enable you to to answer the questions.
