Purpose:
To continue to look at and see things in a unique way;
To strengthen problem-solving skills by capturing reflections...in mirrors, on glass, on metal, in water…
When taking this photo, the tide was very high and the edge of my yard was underwater. I thought this was very unique because green grass is normally not seen in this situation so I wanted to take a photograph. It also includes the reflection of the trees above it and the grey sky.
I found this bright red leaf floating down the top of the water and thought it would contrast with the green water well. I think the red over the green makes the brightness of the leaf stand out even more. The reflections on the bottom are of the dock that I stood on to take this picture.
I walked around my yard with this mirror to try to find reflections by looking at what was behind me. I found this statue of an angel and thought it looked serene in the ivy. I placed the mirror next to it to reflect to trees across from the garden and I was able to shoot looking down but have the sky in the picture as a reflection.
