Reflecting on Goals for the Semester
I think I met my goals for the semester. The first one was to improve my ability to edit photos and I think I definitely did. I was able to improve because of the time we spent learning about components of photography, like ISO and aperture because from there I understood what I could do once I had the picture to make the lighting better. I don't think I used editing to convey emotion but I was able to convey emotion through raw photographs. For example, in the picture to the right, I feel I've successfully created a sense of warmth and family by making use of the lighting and scenery. I did use color theory in Photoshop when I was working on the combining two images assignment because I would try to match the lighting, or if the subject stood out against the background too much I could go over it with the complementary color to even it out. I did learn how to use Photoshop. I feel confident that I could recreate any of the assignments we focused on and apply those skills for others in the future.
