Years 7 & 8
At Xavier High School our curriculum is mapped, described and evaluated within KLA frameworks and in alignment with NESA requirements.
In Year 7 & 8 the emphasis is on providing students with a breadth of learning experiences.
We have a ten day timetable consisting of 50 one hour periods. Students in Years 7 & 8 will study up to 9 courses at a time (see below).
In Years 7 & 8 students do not choose any of their courses.
Year 7
Religion (6 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
English (8 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Maths (8 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Science (6 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Human Society and It's Environment (6 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (6 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Creative and Performing Arts (5 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Technology and Applied Science (5 x 1 hour periods over a 10 day cycle).
Year 8
