The boys basketball team defeated Bayport Bluepoint yesterday by a score of 37-25. Preston Nutter led the way with a team high of 10 points. The boys displayed great team defense and grit throughout the entirety of the game. Come show support as we take on East Islip next Tuesday, December 5th at 4:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.

Congratulations to the boys basketball team on their dominating win over Bellport yesterday by a score of 54-36. Richie Guerrera led the way with a team high of 18 points and Lukas Haugen added 8 points along with a few assists. It was an excellent team performance by the Lions!
Today, we will be running on a PM assembly bell schedule. To conclude our school day, we will be having an assembly on Diversity & Tolerance where our guest speaker, Mr. Korman will be sharing his story as a Holocaust survivor. As this is a sensitive and serious subject, we expect all student's to show their utmost respect throughout the assembly. This includes, clapping at appropriate times, giving the speaker our full attention, listening intently and asking thoughtful and appropriate questions if given the opportunity. Please be empathetic and think about the courage that it must take for our speaker, to share his personal story about some of the hardest things he has gone through in his life with all of us. We are hopeful that you will learn and be positively impacted this afternoon and thank you for your cooperation.

The rules of Penny Wars: Each grade has a jug for collecting money located in the lobby/Cafeteria. Each Penny is worth 1 point. You can add points to your grade's jug by adding pennies and/or bills. Whichever grade has the most points at the end of the week wins!
But... Grades can sabotage each other and try to deduct points by dropping any silver coin (Quarters, Dimes, Nickels) into their opponents jug. Each jug will be counted every day to determine who is in the lead.
The winning grade will receive a pizza party. Students will help the PTA decide how the money will be spent.

The varsity football county semi-final game will take place home this Friday, November 10 at 6:00pm in the high school Stadium. Section XI is allowing all West Islip students who bring a 2023-2024 student ID AND enter through the northwest entrance (by varsity baseball outfield behind the home bleachers) to enter Friday night’s game FREE of charge. Adults with a mobile ticket are welcome to enter through this entrance and all entrances…and as always, children 12 and under are free. GO LIONS!!

There is a terrific show coming to Beach Street Middle School!
We are very proud to announce this year’s fall musical, “Mean Girls, Jr.,” under the direction of Mr. Justin De Maio and Mr. Shane O’Neill, will be performed on Thursday, November 16th, and Friday, November 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Beach Street auditorium.

The girls soccer team finished their season with a perfect 10-0 record, capping off the undefeated season with their hard fought 3-1 win against Udall on Friday. Goals were scored by Kaidyn Hartmann, Avery Heuer, and Hadley Grover assisted by Reese Kopke. The WIGS cup stays at Beach another year! Great job!

Last night under the lights the Beach Street Football Lions took on cross town rival Udall Road with a large crowd on hand. The Beach Street Lions won by a score of 36-6 to improve their overall record to 5 wins and 1 loss. All members of our team should be congratulated for an almost flawless performance on both offense and defense. The Lions gained 268 yards of total offense along with 11 first downs to keep moving the chains. Great tackling and flying to the football kept the Udall offense sputtering. On the season the Beach Street Lions scored an impressive 167 points while giving up 87. Congratulations on a tremendous season we have grown so much as a football team. After last nights performance you accepted the challenge and completed the story. We measured our success by measuring where we started and how we finished. Coach's Luvera and Osburn want to thank our players for an amazing ride and wish our 8th graders the best of success and please continue you play the great game of football. Over two seasons your record was an impressive 9 and 3 Our 7th graders we look forward to coaching you next fall. Special thank you to everyone who came out and supported us this season.

The girls soccer team improved their record to 9-0 with their 5-0 against Brentwood South yesterday. Goals in the game were scored by Marin Biggers with 2, Maddy Rush, Samantha Ostroff and Katelyn Schwarz. Ella Ulrich picked up an assist. Friday will be the battle of the undefeated teams when Beach faces off against Udall at 3:30 on the Barberry Turf at the HS. Beach looks to repeat and keep the WIGS cup at Beach. Come out and see some awesome soccer Friday! GO BEACH!
The boys soccer team won yesterday 5-2. This bring them to a perfect 9-0 on the season. Goals were scored by Desmond with 3 and Nilson & Brandon with 1 each. We had assists from Desmond and Nilson. The goal of this campaign is to spread awareness to young people about the importance of living a drug free healthy lifestyle. When all of us come together, we can have a big impact on our community. Today, during your advisory and lunch periods, please make sure to sign the Drug Free pledge to help us take a stand against drugs. Every choice you make matters and has a big impact on the world around you. Make your choice count!
