Whether you save your entry or rip it up and throw it away, getting your feelings out on paper is a very therapeutic activity. All advisories were given blank journal entries for you to use as a template. Take a few minutes today to journal and let your mind run freely.

Attention, all Beach Street Students and Staff! To recognize and honor the importance of mental health, the Mindfulness Club and Helping Hands Club teamed up to launch Beach Street's very first "Self-Care Calendar" for the month of March! What is self-care, you might ask? Simply put, self-care is doing the things we need to do to maintain our happiness, our health and the ongoing development of our minds! Life can be so busy at times, that we forget about taking care of ourselves and check-in with our mental health. So, for the rest of Mental Health March, join us by committing to taking care of YOU! Yes, YOU! Because YOU deserve it.

For each day of the month, there will be an activity or theme suggested by the students of the clubs, and we will announce it every morning. We are asking for everyone to participate in our #BSMSselfcarechallenge by completing the suggested self-care act every day. To connect us even more, we are asking that everyone take and post a photo of your daily self-care act on Instagram with the hashtag #BSMSselfcarechallenge, and we will search the hashtag each week and choose students to be featured on the Beach Street's social media!
We hope that our Beach Street Community can spend this month honoring our mental health and supporting each other's daily acts of self-love.
That being said, today's self care act is "STEP OUTSIDE IN NATURE, AND JUST BE. Give yourself a "break." Step outside in the fresh air and surround yourself in nature. Relax on the ground, sit near a tree, and feel the earth beneath you. Take big breaths in and out, and get "grounded" again.
Have a beautiful day and Happy Mental Health March!
