Cage Repair/Netting Team

The "Lindsay Sewing Circle” is seeking a few talented (or not-so-talented) volunteers who’d like to stay busy over the winter months. We need to check over and repair every one of the hospital’s fifty, or so, bird cages! The Sewing Circle will meet every Tuesday afternoon, for three hours, 1 PM to 4 PM, to work on the cage linings in the Bird Room. We’ll start on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, and end when all cages have been repaired, usually after about six weeks.

Please note that this is NOT a “drop-in” effort; we would expect you to be there for most, if not all, of those weeks. It is far too complicated and time consuming to teach new members how to do this! On the “Good News” side, we have arranged for these volunteers to get double — yes, DOUBLE — their usual pay! (Editor's Note: If you attend the sessions and become proficient in cage netting skill, the CE burrowing owl will leave 0.5 hours of Wildlife Rehabilitation Continuing Education credit in your holiday stocking...assuming it's still hanging from your mantel.)

If you are interested in assisting or have questions, please contact Hermann Welm (hwelm@comcast.net).
