The Interventionist Framework at Westminster Public Schools
Competency-based Systems (CBS) are agile systems whereby students can move fluidly from one performance level to the next at the point of demonstrated content proficiency, not seat time. Therefore, our special programs too must be agile to align to CBS in supporting its entire population, including those that with special needs, those learning English and/or those struggling academically for any other number of reasons. In doing so, we believe the when we enhance a school’s ability to allow its instructional staff to collaborate, provide high-yield practices in flexible contexts while offering students the universal tools necessary to access the regular curriculum, we will see significant gains among all our student population at WPS, regardless of their labels.
