Q: How is the GPA calculated for continuing scholarship eligibility?
The GPA for scholarship consideration is calculated based on your eight highest-scoring subjects completed within one academic year (three consecutive trimester in your first or second year).
All marks are calculated on a 100-point scale.
To calculate your GPA for the scholarship:
List all the subjects you completed in that academic year (marks out of 100).
Choose your top 8 subjects (highest marks, first attempts only).
Add up the total marks of these 8 subjects.
Divide the total by 8 to get your average GPA.
Example:
If your eight best subjects have the following marks (out of 100): 90, 88, 85, 84, 83, 81, 80, 79
GPA calculation:
(90+88+85+84+83+81+80+79)÷8=83.75
So, your GPA for scholarship is 83.75, which qualifies you for a 30% scholarship.
Q: What are the eligibility requirements for continuing scholarship?
You must accumulate an overall GPA based on the top 8 first-attempted subjects within within one academic year (three consecutive trimester in your first or second year).
GPA ≥ 85: Eligible for a 50% scholarship off the tuition fee of Year 2 (or Year 3).
80 ≤ GPA ≤ 84.99: Eligible for a 30% scholarship off the tuition fee of Year 2 (or Year 3).
To remain eligible, students must:
Be enrolled in full-time study;
Have no disciplinary violations, no failed subjects, and no study breaks during the terms.
The scholarship will be applied for the actual subjects of year 2 (or year 3) that students studied at Western Sydney Vietnam campus (max 8 subjects)
Please note that if you are awarded multiple scholarships, only the one with the highest value will be applied.
Q: Do I need to submit any documents to be considered for the GPA-based scholarship?
The list of eligible students will be sent via email each term. If you do not see your name on the list but believe you meet the eligibility criteria, you can create a question ticket by following the instructions HERE for the University to verify your status.
