Athlete
Lynnwood was an athlete for the Wildcats in Football, basketball, and baseball. In football he was a four year letter winner, team captain his senior year and was selected to the All District Team his Junior and Senior year.
After graduation, he attended the University of Maryland on a Football Scholarship. While at the University of Maryland he had the honor of being the starting center on the first undefeated Freshman team in the history of Maryland Football.

William starred for the Wildcats in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. In football he received the honor of being selected to the 1965 All-Area Football Team. In Basketball he was selected to the All-Area Basketball in 1966 and 1967 as well as being chosen as the player of the year in 1967. In Baseball he was a four year letter winner from 1964-1967 and during that time period the Baseball Team won three consectutive District 10 Championships in 1965, 1966, and 1967.
Upon graduation William was drafted by Washington Senator in 1967 but accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Randolph Macon College. He was All Mason Dixon Conference in 1969, 1970, and 1971. He was Outstanding College Athlete in America in 1971, the President of the Varsity Club in 1970 and 1971, and was a member of Omecron Delta Kappa Leadership Fraternity in 1971. William graduated from Randolph Macon College in 1971 with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and received a Masters Degree from James Madison University in 1975.

Henry J Owens III "Ace" starred for the Wildcats in Football, Basketball and Track and Field. In Football, he was a three year letter winner, received the Golden Helmet Award and was captain of the team. In Track and Field he was a three year letter winner and set the school record in shot and discus.
After graduation he attended the University of Richmond on a football scholarship. He competed for the Spiders in the classroom as well as on the football field. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education. He excelled on the field earning the player of the week awards, All Southern Conference Award and became the captain of the football team. Upon graduation from the University of Richmond he was drafted and played professional football in the Canadian Football League.

"C" starred for the Wildcats in Basketball from 1986 through 1987. In Basketball he was a two year letter winner. He was selected 2nd team All Northwestern District in 1986. In 1987 he was selected 1st team All Northwestern District, Northern Virginia Daily and Winchester Star Player in the Virginia High School League All Star Game. He set a VHSL State Basketball Tournament Record of 7 seals vs Brunswick. He played on the Northwestern District Championship Baseball Teams in 1985 and 1987.
Upon graduation he attended Slippery Rock University from 1987 to 1992. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration. "C" achieved the following honors at Slippery Rock University: 2nd All Team All PSAC in 1990 and 1991 and played nationally ranked teams in 1990 and 1991. He scored 1100 career points, became Slippery Rock's Single Season All Time Leader in assists and steals. He played professional basketball with the Youngstown Pride of World Basketball League (1992).

Dr. Blanton has been an avid supporter of athletics in Warren County for 39 years. He has worked diligently to build programs and helped potential athletes by paying out of his pocket for physicals, equipment, shoes and by providing transportation when needed. He worked to get students in college and universities on scholarships. He has helped track and field, football and basketball. He served WCPS as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Adminstrator to the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Interim Superintendent and Coach.
Dr. Blanton attended Fork Union Military Academy and was captain of the track team. He held records in the mile and half milde. Upon graduation he was state prep half mile champion in 1954.
