JLCB Immunization of Students

IMMUNIZATION OF STUDENTS

No student shall attend a school program within the Wayland Public Schools without a certificate of immunization documenting that the child has been successfully immunized in accordance with current Massachusetts Department of Health (MDPH) required immunization schedules, developed in accordance with the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), or any successor committee serving a comparable function.

The above requirements shall not apply when the student, or the student’s parent or guardian if the student is a minor, provides written documentation that he or she is immune, as defined in MDPH guidelines, or provides written documentation that he or she meets the standards for medical or religious exemption set forth in M.G.L. c. 76, § 15. Documentation of exemptions must be provided annually at the start of the school year.

Families who have difficulty accessing required school immunizations may be in contact with the Wayland Health Department for assistance.
