Programming the Microcontroller via Debugger
The last stage of building a project is the creation of the binary .out file. This file needs to be written to the microcontroller which is called programming the microcontroller.
CCS provides two options to achieve this. The first option is 'debug' and the second option is 'flash'.
The debug option programs the microcontroller and waits for the user to start running the code on the microcontroller. As the name suggests, this option is better suited for debugging the code.
To enter debug mode, click on the Green colored Bug symbol on the toolbar or go to Run -> Debug.
This will program the microcontroller and wait before executing the first line of the main function. Click the play/resume symbol to start executing the code.
