Step 1

Open your favorite browser and log in to GitHub.com.

Step 2

Click on the assignment link that is given to you by your instructor. We share this link on Canvas under your assignment page. Clicking on the link constitutes what is called "accepting the assignment". For this tutorial, you will accept this link (https://classroom.github.com/a/Xknj65X9). However, if you are following this tutorial from HW1, use the assignment link in the homework document. Once you "Accept this Assignment", a new repository is created and the starter code is imported for you. Eventually, you should see a window similar to the below screenshot. (Refresh your browser if it does not update on its own.)

Step 3

Click on the link in front of the line that says "Your assignment has been created here:" This will take you to the repository. You should see the starter code files.
