WYF and YIIP are pleased to honor and partner with our own, Levar Ellis for the third annual community walk. Each week on the Da Mind Matters podcast, hosted by Mr. Ellis, David Manning, and Dr. Rasheda Perine aka Dr. P., discuss and provide resources to the African American community of Greater Houston and beyond.
Join us this weekend, Saturday, June 17 & 18 as Dad Kronicle's takes to the streets of the city walking together in faith to shatter the stigma that has shackled the community for too long. This group of leaders will discuss the importance of having both physical and mental health for black men.
We are so excited to share this event as well as other Dad Kronicle events taking place in the Houston community.
DK2911 CHESS CLUB is an extension of 501c3 Dad Kronicles, Inc.
Dad Kronicles hosts a FREE bi-monthly Chess Club every other Sunday at Take The Wheel Restaurant (a Community Partner) starting promptly at 2:30pm
Children (boys & girls) ages 8+ and adults of any experience level are encouraged to come out and participate. We lean on and teach 10 principles of Chess and how they will correlate in real life so that the saying "Chess is like the game of Life" can be more understanding at a early age.
Our community partner, Take The Wheel Restaurant, provides a meal for all children, and adults are welcomed and encouraged to patronize and place their own orders at the end of every meeting. Our collective goal is to ensure every child is FULL, Mind, Body, and Spirit!
These fathers, mentors, and men meet each quarter to discuss the events and concerns regarding the community where they live, work, and play. All are invited to listen in and contribute to the conversations that generate both positive energy and tangible solutions.
This Harris County Summer Program is in Full Affect for the community of Alief!
Levar Ellis, a Houston native son, is a product of this community, and giving back is part of his moral mission!
