This month YIIP is going to Stay Lit! because we are On Fire to Inspire!
Join us for an exceptional field lesson hosted by the talented Kalum Johnson (Kdog), and featuring an exciting STEM lesson hosted by Coding with a Twist's own Sha'Rell Web.
We are going to discuss the science of musical jingles learn how they support branding, and create our own. Mr. Johnson will discuss the use of social media, branding and promotions to ignite our young creators!
After our 10:am lessons and a lunch pre-registered YIIP guests are welcome to stay and play all of the arcade games. No coins required for over 275 games!
Kalum Johnson has been serving the community of Houston as a mentor, entertainer, and motivational speaker. His personal philosophy, to Stay Lit, includes this mission to help others connect to the positive energy in their lives by celebrating every moment. Kalum Johnson is a multifaceted actor, hip-hop artist, dancer, comedian, model and emcee/host with a wide range of characters and roles. He engages a wide range of audiences, many with his dynamic personality. Kalum is often cast in comedic roles in films and plays because of his humor and energy. Mrs. Sha'Rell Webb is the founder of Coding With a Twist, an organization geared to increase the awareness of coding and robotics to the Houston youth.
Mrs. Sha’Rell Webb is the Public Engagement Lead at the Lunar and Planetary Institute. She is responsible for the implementation of LPI’s public engagement programs, such as the Cosmic Explorations Speaker Series, Sky Fest, and Virtual Exploration Experiences with Planetary Scientists (VEEPS).
Mrs. Webb is a high-energy education specialist, coming to LPI with seven years of experience as a pioneer educator. Working closely with her team and audiences, Webb strives to infuse technology into her programs. She leads LPI's public engagement efforts and portable planetarium loan program. Her knowledge and experiences, down-to-earth style, and empowering messages have made her a valuable speaker. Webb has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Jarvis Christian College, where she is a guest lecturer. She is honored to be a Solar System Ambassador, NASA Network of States Train-the-Trainer and a TEX2 Teacher Extern, and in 2017 was named Fan Favorite Teacher of the Year for Houston Independent School District
