Tsurex are the smallest overall subspecies of beblune, but what they lack in size they make up for it in personality! Tsurex are an aquatic species that are frequently found in most tropical areas. Thanks to their amphibious lungs, tsurex are able to inhabit both the water and on land, though they tend to stick to the shorelines as they are not as agile on land as their cousin subspecies.
Key Features
Tsurex have many adaptations that help them survive and thrive in their aquatic environments! Their arms have changed to become a second set of wings, making them agile swimmers in combination with their wings. Their crest has evolved to act as a rudder, and is used with the fin on their tail to allow them to turn quickly while swimming. Tsurex have small slit nostrils, as well as big round eyes that lack any noticable sclera. Their legs sport long toes with long claws that they use to sift through the sandy bottom of the ocean to dig up treats!
Tsurex skulls are full of narrow teeth, similar to those of toothed dolphins. Their teeth point backwards to help capture and hold onto fish and other live prey. Their curved crest bone anchors a thick finned crest to aid as a rudder while swimming.
Tsurex largely sustain themselves with harvested foods found along their local beaches and estuaries! Fish, crusteceans, seaweeds, sea birds, and silt largely make up a tsurex diet.
Tsurex homes are frequently made out of stone and covered with coral and oceanic flora to provide homes for other creatures in the environment!
