Redesign Guide

Have a beblune, subspecies or hybrid who is almost everything you dreamed of but is just missing that little something? A design that's a little too complex that needs to cool down or a little too simple that needs some spicing up? This is the place to make those changes!

Rules

General Rules

Pre-existing designs should NOT be used in place of MYOs! Redesigns are intended to be a way to boost a design or help adjust a design to better fit their story! Characters should always stay recognizable to their original design, if the design is not recognizable you may be asked to change things.
You may only have one pending redesign at a time.
A character may only be submitted for redesign once every 6 months. This limit still applies if a character is traded during this period! A Refreshing Soap may be applied at any time.
Another member may be commissioned to draw the updated design.
All changes must be listed in the submitted redesign form!

Design Rules

Free hue shifts (of markings or overall design) should remain within a relatively similar range. Warm colors must remain in the warm spectrum, cool colors must remain in the cool spectrum! Neutrals should stay in a similar range. Stronger hue shifts or full color changes require a Dye Kit to be used!
If larger traits are being changed or added, colors and patterns must remain closer to the original design
If markings and/or colors are being significantly changed, traits must remain closer to the original design
Overall at least 60% of a design must remain the same or recognizable.
Submitted redesigns must meet the following criteria: Full body, full color, no shading, clean sketch or linework, profile view of the full design

What can be done for free?

Small hue/saturation shifts of markings or full palette (approximately 25% shift)
Changing the color of eyes, paw pads, claws, hair or other small parts
Adding, changing or removing scars, tattoos and accessories
Small shifts of marking placements, adding detail to or simplifying markings
Adjustments to trait expression of smaller traits such as eyes, teeth and ears
Changing hair style and length for designs with the Hair mutation

What changes need items?

Adding traits and mutations require a correlated Token or Ichor
Removing a trait or mutation requires a Gecko Tail
Significant marking updates that add, remove, change the color and/or placement of a marking requires a Dye Kit - Only one Dye Kit is needed per redesign
Changing how a larger existing trait appears on a design requires a Chameleon Eye (such as wings, tails, and legs)
Reverting a design back to its original design requires a Refreshing Soap
Putting a redesign on a current official group base requires a Pose Swapper if the original design is on a retired group base
Updating a design on a current official group base requires a Fresh Paint

Dye Kit

This item is used to change the markings and/or colors of a design

Ichors

These items add a mutation of the corresponding rarity to a design

Tokens

These items add a trait of the corresponding rarity to a design

Refreshing Soap

This item is used to revert a design back to its original version

Gecko Tail

This item is used to remove a trait or mutation from an existing design

Skink Tail

This item is used to remove a trait from being rolled in a breeding (one Skink Tail per trait being removed, unlimited) OR this item may be used with a corresponding rarity token to add a trait to a pup (rare or higher) from a breeding BEFORE it is designed

Chameleon Eye

This item is used to change how a pre-existing trait appears on a design

Pose Swapper

This item is used to put a design onto a current official base

Fresh Paint

This item is used to update a design that is already on a current official base

Redesign Examples

Acceptable Free Hue Shifts

Acceptable free minor marking changes: Marking on shoulder hue shifted and hip marking removed, crest membrane color change, inner wing feathers color change
Acceptable major marking changes using a Dye Kit: Markings added to feet and face, gradient added to crest, hue shift and stripes added to belly marking, addition of large back marking, reversal of wing colors and addition of gradient markings

Chameleon Eye

A Chameleon Eye is applied to change the appearance of Insect Wings to appear as butterfly wings instead of dragonfly wings

Adding and Removing Traits

There is no set limit to the amount of traits you can add or remove from a design, so long as the design remains recognizable!

Traits may be added to an existing design by applying the corresponding rarity Token!

Traits may be removed from an existing design by applying a Gecko Tail!
