Annotation of the Helicobacter pylori Genome from DNA Coordinates 260361 to 261377 (Locus Tag HP0251)

Abstract: One gene was investigated in the microorganism Helicobacter pylori (260361 to 261377) and was annotated using the collaborative genome annotation website GENI-ACT. The Genbank proposed gene product name for the gene which was assessed in terms of the general genomic information, amino acid sequence-based similarity data, structure-based evidence from the amino acid sequence, cellular localization data, potential alternative open reading frames, and enzymatic function. The Genbank proposed gene product name did not differ significantly from the proposed gene annotation for the gene and as such, the gene appears to be correctly annotated as a Ni(2+) ABC transporter membrane subunit NikC.
