Max Weber interprets the major historical processes of modern society and conceptualizes the fundamental contemporary dilemma of the dualism between form and substance in law. This problem, while it may be mitigated, cannot be completely resolved. This is because the system of legal domination can only persist as long as this dualism is maintained.
