Precious, Powerful Pandas

  Rawr! What was that sound coming from the bamboo shoots? Oh, wow! It's a panda! Living in beautiful rainforests, pandas are awesome creatures, and today we are going to learn all about them; so buckle up and enjoy the ride! 

  Pandas mostly live in wet, misty, and dewy places, mostly because they provide their food source. The Qinling panda lives in bamboo forests, often in old growth and secondary forest areas. Pandas live in 64-69°F temperatures because it is ideal for growing the bamboo. Often moist, the habitat of the panda is found in China.

  A majestic black and white creature slowly walks across the thick bamboo forest. She stumbles into a patch of light, revealing herself to be a panda. She finds a long river with fish splashing around together. This is perfect for her whole family. She crouches down to look like a rock, sticking her head close to the water. As a salmon jumps just in reach of the panda, she jumps into the water to catch it. She shakes herself dry and walks slowly into the night. Lazy yet majestic, she strides along the bamboo forests of China.

  The giant panda is the most common panda. She leaves her home to find food for her 38 (130 in panda years) year-old husband and her cubs. As she claims the bamboo from the shoot, she is startled by a salmon, which hits her on the back. She grabs the salmon and heads home to feed her cubs and husband. In another panda family, the little cub runs circles around her father, waiting for her mother to return. She is happy to be in the wild, for the Qinling panda was not yet considered a real species until 2005. It was 1999 at this time, and the cub was not yet 3, which means she wasn't even 1 in human years! By the time her mother returned, the tired little cub was sound asleep.
