THE TRUTH TO BEARS!!!!!!

  Tough, free, and wild, bears are actually one of my favourite animals to study. Even though most people are scared of bears, I really like them. I’m going to tell you about three of my favourites. which are polar bears, black bears, and panda bears. 

  Something white and fluffy swims in the water; it looks like it’s been swimming for days. That's because polar bears are considered a marine animal and can swim for days without stopping. Most people think polar bears’ fur is white, but it’s translucent, so it can reflect the snow allowing it to camouflage better. Even with the camouflage, hunting isn’t a strength. Less than two percent of polar bear hunts are successful. Polar bears are territorial and will attack humans. Amazingly scientists have figured out a way to extract DNA from a polar bear’s footprints!

  Something black and fluffy is eating fruit. From far away you would think it’s a bunny, but it’s actually a black bear. Black bears don’t eat much meat at all. They usually eat fruit, grass, and herbs. Black bears are also great climbers, so it’s easier for them to get all the berries that are up high. Not only are they great climbers, but they have amazing hearing as well, so they can hear their babies crying from far away and can run back to them. Black bears can run 35miles an hour. When feeding their baby right. black bears can grow to the same size as a human.   

  Pandas mainly spend most of their time eating, that's why they live in areas with lots of food, so they don’t have to walk around much. Pandas have very good camouflage so they can hide away from their predators which are the snow leopard, yellow throated marten, and jackal. On top of that all pandas are amazing swimmers and climbers there is nothing they can’t do. Unfortunately, their only downside is that wild pandas can live up to 20 years but in human care they can live up to 30 years.

  People are scared of bears, but really, bears should be scared of us. Bears are not at the top of the food chain we are. Yes, they are predators, but so are we, and unlike us, they are prey as well as predators. We are taking over their land. They are running out of room to live and sadly, becoming extinct. They are not pets, but that doesn’t mean we can’t live side by side.
