I am working on this project with Valeriia Starosek!
How can we use 3D scans to create a digital experience that helps the audience feel more present and grounded?
Guided meditation-like digital experience in a natural environment (3D scans of AZ plants with added environmental elements, visual and sonic).
When reviewing this first pass with Valeriia, we both saw that the video is super jumpy. This is happening because the animation of the camera loop is only 3 seconds long, but I was lengthening it to 1 minute and 30 seconds. Thus, the camera movements looks snappy. To fix this, I searched the solution on Google and found out that I needed to change the frame rate of the camera path from 100 (which produced the 3 second render) to 1440 (which produces a 1 minute render). Doing this allowed the camera to go around the path exactly once and cover the entire scene. I exported these scenes as a PNG sequence and imported them into After Effects. I added fade-in and fade-out to the beginning and end of the video to make it look smooth.
Upon looking at the refined version, Valeriia proposed and I agreed that the video looks good but we needed to get rid of the fire-hydrant at the beginning to make it more of a nature-focused walk. Thus, I replaced it with a tall cactus. Then, I proposed the idea of adding birds to this just for a little variety. I found animated bird models on Sketchfab and downloaded them as FBX to import into the scene.

After I finished my portion of this project, Valeriia took over to put together sound, specifically nature-themed ambiance with bird chirps, bug buzzes, wind, and footsteps crunching noises. The final result is shown below.
