On July 13, BLIA Vancouver’s Jing Hua Subchapter and Richmond 3 Chapter held the second “Floral Harmony”workshop at Fo Guang Shan Vancouver. About 30 participants joined, led by floral artist Sujian Li, to learn flower arrangement as a way to offer beauty to the Buddha and cultivate mindfulness.
Venerable Zhi Ping opened with a short talk, comparing the growth of flowers to life. Flowers need sunlight, water, and care; people need kindness, compassion, and wisdom. She encouraged practicing the Six Perfections—generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom—through flower arranging.
The activity gently brought Buddhist values like gratitude, mindfulness, and giving into real life, leaving families with warm memories and deeper connections.
