On a sunny weekend, BLIA Vancouver’s Radiance Subchapter held a parent-child event at Billz Beez and Berry Farm in Richmond. Led by Venerable Chueh Chu, over ten families joined the “Blueberry Zen Walk” for a joyful and meaningful day.
Venerable Chueh Chu shared that blueberries, like life, can be sweet or sour, and taught children to be grateful for every moment. As families picked berries, they learned to appreciate nature and the care behind each fruit—just like the love parents give to help children grow.
Special thanks to farm owner Bill, for generously opening his orchard. He warmly explained how bees make honey and let everyone taste fresh honey from the honeycomb. Children also searched for heart-shaped berries to give to their parents, filling the day with laughter and love.
The activity gently brought Buddhist values like gratitude, mindfulness, and giving into real life, leaving families with warm memories and deeper connections.
