On June 23, the He Xie Subchapter gathered at Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver for a forest hike, promoting energy conservation, carbon reduction, and plant-based living. Led by Jing-Yun Wang, with support from Supervisor Meihua Huang and Chapter President Tan-Tai Hua, 10 members participated enthusiastically. The group walked a total of 40 km, showing their shared dedication to protecting the Earth through mindful action.
On June 14, Fo Guang members in Burnaby came together at Central Park for an outdoor meditation and walking event. Nineteen members and family joined, led by Venerable Youyin, who shared wisdom from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s writing, “Stay Calm Amid Life’s Noise,” reminding everyone how to find inner peace in a busy world. Together, the group logged 41.8 km, walking with both health and compassion in their hearts.
Earlier in the month, on June 11, the Coquitlam Subchapter held a lakeside walk around Lafarge Lake, where 8 members completed nearly three full loops, totaling 25 km. The event was a simple but meaningful way to support the Vegrun mission and enjoy time in nature together.
These walking events brought members closer to each other, to nature, and to the values of kindness, mindfulness, and active service. Through each step, they helped spread the spirit of Fo Guang and planted seeds of love and care for all living beings.
