On December 8, Vancouver Fo Guang Shan Three Acts of Goodness Children’s School held their 2024 Fall Semester Closing Ceremony and the 2024 North American Buddhism Exam. The exam was divided into three groups: children, teenagers, and youth. It attracted over 30 participants, including young bodhisattva students, parents, and Buddha’s Light Young Adults, demonstrating their enthusiasm for learning Buddhism and their spirit of unity.

Before the exam, the students watched videos of The Way of Chan and, under the guidance of Venerables, youth teachers, and parents, learned about fundamental Buddhist principles, etiquette, and life education. The youngest participant, only 4 years old, answered questions read aloud by their mother. Each child focused intently and answered thoughtfully, planting seeds of virtue and wisdom in their minds.

The afternoon closing ceremony unfolded in an atmosphere of warmth and inspiration. Venerable Chueh Chu, the Dean of Vancouver Humanistic Buddhism School, emphasized the importance of passing down faith through generations. She commended the Fo Guang youth for their active participation and encouraged more young bodhisattvas to join the youth group in the future, contributing to the propagation of Humanistic Buddhism with fresh energy.

Following the speech, Venerable Chueh Chu and Venerable You Yin presented awards, including “Completion Certificates,” “Three Acts of Goodness Awards,” “Perfect Attendance Awards,” and “Fo Guang Awards,” recognizing the efforts and achievements of the young bodhisattvas. Parents eagerly captured every precious moment with their phones, filling the room with joy and fulfillment.

Finally, the Advising Venerable of Vancouver FGS Three Acts of Goodness Kids Class, Venerable You Yin, shared the 2025 Lunar New Year message from Venerable Master Hsing Yun: “Keep Going, The Future is Bright.” She encouraged everyone to register for the next term and continue the joyful journey of Buddhist learning.
