  • DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • TIME INVOLVED:

    • Time commitment varies:

      • The president's position involves time similar to two (2) 4-unit classes per semester; less during summer and intersession.

      • Members of the Negotiating Team may include the officers (Executive Committee of the Policy Board) and may include some representatives. Time involved is approximately four hours per meeting, with about 2 to 4 meetings per month scheduled around availability.

        • Work on the Negotiating Team may involve an additional stipend.

      • A representative's position might involve the equivalent of 1/4 to 1/2 of a 4-unit class per semester.

    • Representatives can expect monthly PB meetings of 2 hours; monthly committee work of 2 hours.

    • Reps and officers are expected to be able to respond to email messages within 24-48 hours. See other responsibilities: Policy Board Duties

  • STIPEND

    • Maximum annual stipends for officers and representatives are set by the membership. The schedule below was approved in December 2018. Each "unit" pay is at the current non-PHP rate.

      • In Spring 2019, the Non-PHP Unit Value = $1918.

      • The Policy Board may reduce the stipend at the start of a semester to address financial exigencies.
