Timeline: USF-PTFA Elections 2020
The timeline, revised 3/30/2020, is adjusted to accommodate the extended nomination process for President
Friday March 20, 12:01am: E-mail nominations open. Send nominations (or self-nominations) to elections@usfptfa.org Include:
the nominee's full name and email address
position for which the person is being nominated
college or school (CAS, SOE, SOM, SONHP)
the position for which the person is being nominated;
if known, the two (2) most recently completed semesters taught at USF (e.g., Spring and Fall, 2019).
Tuesday, March 24, 11:30 to 1:00pm, via Zoom, In person nominations may be made at the membership meeting.
Wednesday, March 25, 5pm: Nominations close. [note date change]
Thursday March 26, 5pm: Nominees for positions on the USF-PTFA Policy Board—both officers and representatives—must email their acceptance to elections@usfptfa.org. Nominees should state their two (2) most recently completed semesters taught at USF. Failure to send an acceptance email by this time will be considered as declining the nomination. A verified notification of eligibility will be sent to all candidates who accept. [note date change]
Tuesday, March 31: Extended Nominations for President Open
Monday, April 6, 5pm: Extended Nominations for President Close
Tuesday, April 7, 5pm: Deadline for Elections Committee to Receive Acceptance of Presidential Nomination by Nominee.
Thursday, April 9: Candidate eligibility for President verified; eligibility notification emails sent to all nominees by the Elections Committee. Includes reminder to review the Union website for election and campaign rules, and directions and deadlines for submitting Candidate Statements.
Friday, April 10: Period begins for candidates to inspect the union’s membership list one time between this date and 5pm Monday April 27. To make an appointment, please contact elections@usfptfa.org. [Note: Given the Covid-19 crisis, the CFT recommends cancelling the inspection of membership lists, but allows the Elections Committee leeway to determine whether and how access might occur. The Elections Committee will allow but modify access to the list.]
Monday April 13, 5pm: Candidates who wish to submit a campaign statement must do so by this date and time. The recommended format is a one- to two-page statement, with a brief biography and photo. Please submit a PDF file ONLY to elections@usfptfa.org. Candidates' campaign materials will be distributed electronically within two days.
The PDF file must be named as follows:
LastName.FirstName.Position.School. Statement01.
[e.g., Einstein.Albert.Secretary.SON.Materials01.]
Monday, April 20, 5pm: Candidates who wish to submit an additional campaign statement must do so by this date and time. The recommended format is a one- to two-page statement, with a brief biography and photo. Candidates may re-submit Statement01 or a new Statement. If no statement is submitted, none will be distributed. Candidates' campaign materials will be distributed electronically within two days. Please submit a PDF file ONLY to elections@usfptfa.org.

Candidates may also, at their own expense, distribute campaign material by U.S. Mail. This will be handled through a 3rd party USPS mailing service. Costs and procedures will be provided upon request; contact elections@usfptfa.org. Candidates must have contacted the elections committee by 5pm on Tuesday, April 14, 5:00pm.
Tuesday, April 28, 12:01am to Friday, May 1, 11:59pm: Electronic voting occurs, managed by a 3rd party electronic voting administrator.
Tuesday, May 5: Latest date for announcement of election results.
