The Awakened of the Unfinished Tome received a curious invite to a council of leaders and diplomats from across the continent. At the appointed hour Okubo led the Awakened to the Cost of War, an ancient isle made for bitter foes to negotiate at in peace. There, the Awakened met with both friend and enemy, speaking to the Fated Beings, who sat at the very Table of Fate at the isle’s heart, and to representatives of many other powers of the world: Gullnane, Ustica, Atonia, Skotho, Soldia and the Bloody Sovereign. 

The Fated Beings, Bokusquar, Mishkinvisarg the forest’s avenger, Okubo, Paladin of the Knot, and Allectia the fortune teller cast their eyes upon the Awakened and selected champions to bear their gaze. 

Other strange entities like the Masked Shepherd and Lazaros the Rune Sphinx visited to parley with those that had caught their interest, while Kenzo and the Keepers of the Comrades Ledger also made a showing. 

Perhaps most disquieting for the Awakened of the Unfinished Tome was the presence of Eric the Flayer, one of the leaders of Hrath Dain. The grim Wight sat down to set terms of war with the Awakened, and agreed that, in their war to seize the Tower of Brass, no Rites of great destruction would be wielded by either side, and that if an individual surrenders, they are to be taken as a prisoner of war.
