Event 3

Event Summary 

The Awakened of the Tower faced many challenges upon gathering for the third time. The Arynian Gate led them to the blasted wasteland of Ashain. Long ago after the battle for Soldia magic had been levelled against the Ashainites for their service to Elvinath the Blinding Midnight. Their land was all but destroyed and their people scattered. They faced the question of was it just, what their forebears had done to Ashain. 

Now in the modern days, as magic returned the Awakened faced a choice of three paths. They chose to use the power of a dying ancient tree to infuse the land with life once more. The order helped the Ashainites reject their past choices by destroying the shard of the Servant Dominion before setting them towards choosing a new route forwards. 

Other plots and dangers continued to demand the Awakened's attention alongside this critical choice. 

A contingent of the Awakened ventured to the ruined City of Ativesh to seek the Cathedral of Flesh. The city's defenders though had other ideas and despite treasures being claimed from the ruins the Awakened were forced to retreat and leave the seething, hating place behind. 

Others faced a threat closer to home in the form of the Eel that Walks, a twisted knot of ghosts that possessed the eels of the bog. The ghosts twisting the creatures into new and dangerous forms. They were a threat to Durnmire it seemed, stalking the Awakened till they were able to banish it for a time and finding key information on what had caused it so that they might find a way to deal with it more permanently. 

In Wyrdr there were clandestine meetings and daring raids as opposition to Amran increased. Other Awakened delved further into the catacombs beneath Keld. One member of the Court of Beasts was aided whilst another was denied. Legal questions were answered before the Comrades. A promise was made by Symriel to gift the Order with flaming swords if they were to take the battle to the Paladin Kakeris.

Finally, with enough relics gathered from Ashain a vision appeared to the order to give them this message:

I, Tiberius of the Gnosis Solem, tell you now our final wisdom.

We who have cast the Grand Rite of Gnosis Solem in the temple of The Witness have received the Truth of Solem’s destiny. Knowing this Truth we have resolved to act and create the Unfinished Tome so that those of the future might complete our journey. I urge you to learn the Secret Names of Magic and with them pass into the Primal Lands and Gaze into the Well of Stars so that you might learn the lost secrets of the stars and by reason, magic or force of arms unbind those who will not fade.

I myself must consider that the patron of my own religion is themselves a wrongness. I cannot break faith with them but, if my Spirit is free to do so, I will plead with them to do right and fade.
