Magic flows back to the tower once more empowering the Awakened to attempt yet more mighty achievements and plumb the depths of wisdom as yet undrunk.
But even as they are empowered so too are their gathering enemies. The Age is no longer young. Limits have been tested and plays on the board that is Solem are being made by forces both corporeal and celestial. Hrath Dain seeks conquest and through the efforts of the Awakened they are stymied for now. The tide of bone and blood and steel held back by high walls of stone and valiant Awakened who raid and clash with them.
Others too begin to cast aside their pretensions and stake a claim to what is theirs. Ready to battle to keep it. Cults of all manner of stars rise in the Known Lands as those celestial bodies seek champions and the Banner calls for those who hold freedom in high regard to shatter the Throne of the First Tyrant.
As all this comes to pass the Arynian Gate flickers and aligns to Ativesh and the Cathedral of Flesh. A profane structure raised atop an ancient place of learning that has brooded and lurked for many a long age. Secrets of the Cerulean Sage and the one who became the Vulture can be found there. But the Pages do not believe city is as it once was. They do not sense the beating hate of the edifice that squats in the city nor see immediate visions of the flesh creatures it spawns. Instead looking upon the gate they see a city chained. It's power kept in check by patrolling black hounds and emaciated cultists. A mystery then mixed with a new chapter written in flesh and war.
