My name is Günter Pilz and, as you can guess, my nickname is UltraPilz. Why the mushroom in the logo? Pilz is the German word for mushroom, that's why!
I am a secondary school teacher and I live in Linz, Austria. I love working with children helping them find their way into life. I live with my wife Amalia who is also an avid runner, and our beautiful Husky dog Maya.
My love is ultra endurance sport. I started with this ultra madness in 2016 after having finished several marathons and five long distance triathlons.
Since then I have completed six doubles, two triples, one quintuple and three Ultraman style races as well as several 24-hour-triathlons, the very first Ultra Winter Triathlon and the very first Cross Country Skiing Backyard Ultra. I love creating my own adventures like cycling from the westernmost to the easternmost village in Austria, cycling from Austria to Romania to climb a famous hill there or to the Baltic Sea, swimming lakes and running 24 hour races or cross country ski for several hours. I have also crossed Lake Lipno (33 km) in one go and intented to swim Lake Värnamo in Sweden.
You can find fotos of these events and my adventures in the MY SPORTS DIARY section.
You can also visit me on FACEBOOK.
That is Amalia and me after my
private triple in November 2020.
I love nearly any kind of music, especially Blues and Rock, but also different types of Latin American music.
My favourite musician is Irishman RORY GALLAGHER. I was lucky enough to experience him live in Passau / Germany in 1979.
Here is one of my favourite songs called "Walk on hot coals" which is also my race motto:
I am a nudist / naturist. I spend all of my holidays at naturist beaches and try to lead a naked live, also at home. Find out more about this lifestyle on my other website NATURIST-LIVING. Here is a pic at one of our favourite beaches in Vera / Spain.
