My Sports Diary 2007
In this my first official year as an athlete I competed in six races in one country: 4 triatlons, 1 aquatlon, and 1 running race
31. 12. 2007: Carrera San Silvestre, Guatemala City, Guatemala
"Carrera San Silvestre" was my first New Year´s run. It was held in Guatemal City, the distance was 9,6 km and it took me 0:57:12 to finish. Many people ran in costumes.
09. 12. 2007: Triatlón, Retalhuleu, Guatemala
Next race was the triatlón in the southern city of Retalhuleu. I can´t remember the distances, but I finished in 0:53:19.
28. 10. 2007: Triatlón olimpica, Puerto San José, Guatemala
This was the "real" day: My very first official triathlon. Olympic distance. Final time: 3:02.21.
07. 10. 2007: Triatlón interno IAG, Guatemala City, Guatemala
To make sure that I could already do an Olympic distance triathlon I organized one myself on the grounds of the "Instituto Austriaco Guatemalteco", the International Austrian School in Guatemala. I finished in 3:24:30.
16. 09. 2007: Aquatlón mayor, USAC, Guatemala City, Guatemala
My second race was at the USAC (University of San Carlos) in Guatemal City. It was an Aquathlon (run - swim - run). Unfortunately I have no record of the distances or my final time.
18. 08. 2007: Triatlón Gran Jaguar, Peten, Guatemala
My first ever triathlon. Well, not really. I participated in the "Gran Jaguar Triathlon" (a middle distance race) in Peten, Guatemala, as the swimmer of a relay team together with Harald Pfeiffer (bike) and Wilfried Reichart (run). It took me 0:46:46 to complete the 2 km swim.
