Safe Space Guidelines

We have guidelines to ensure that our online meeting is a safe space.

• The meeting will not be recorded. The option to record has been disabled.

• If you are in a location with others (family, etc.) use earbuds or headphones to protect the confidentiality of other members of the group

• The meeting will be locked to additional people joining at approximately 7:30pm.

• Screen sharing can only be done by the host and co-hosts.

If you would like additional assistance using Zoom please arrive a little early or stay a little after the meeting and ask for help using Zoom.

Zoom Meeting Controls

Controls are at the bottom of the screen

• You may need to click on the screen to bring them up

• You can start & stop the video by clicking on the Video icon.

  • • When on video please try to keep your computer or phone stationary as movement can give others motion sickness.

• You can mute and unmute yourself by clicking on the Mute icon.

  • • Please keep yourself on mute when you are not talking.

    • The meeting host may mute you if there appears to be background noise coming from you and you are not the main person talking. You can always unmute yourself later.

  • There will be a red slash over the Video & Mute icon to show when you are not on video and when you are muted.

Chat

We will post links occasionally during the meeting through chat.

To access chat

On computer click on the chat icon.

On Android mobile phone click on on the screen to bring up the controls. Click ... More and then click on chat.

On iPhone click on the screen to bring up the controls. Click on more... and then click on Chat.

From the chat view, click on the link to go to it or copy the link to paste in another application. It can be helpful to hit the escape key or double click on the Zoom screen to get out of Zoom's full screen mode. See the Detailed How To guides for more guidance.

Sharing time & chat

To align with our no cross talk guidelines, chat will be disabled during the sharing portion of the meeting.

Zoom Meeting Layout

If you are on a desktop computer, there are many layout options you can use to arrange the screen in a way that works for you. To explore these options go to the controls in the top area of the Zoom meeting screen or refer to the Detailed How to Guides.
