We had a lot of fun at camp Loll this year. We left Sunday around noon and setup camp. The next day we did swim check and started merit badges. After arriving we learned that they would offer a Metalworking Merit badge. We had 4 rearrange their schedule to take it. It was a challenging MB and took a lot of time to complete. On Tuesday our troop participated in the Canoe Overnight event. We went to the other side of the lake and camped out under the stars. Everyone did well navigating their canoes. On Wed Bridger decided he was going to do the Polar Bear, and with a little coaxing, everyone decided to go. It was the coldest polar bear plung. Sitting back into a freezing waterfall gave everyone a brain freeze. On Thursday we hiked to Union Falls. We got up at 5:00 am so that we could be ready to go by 6:30. The staff was surprised we were there and ready to go because that never happens. Because we all had water shoes we also saved time at water crossings. In addition to Union falls we stopped at scout pool. Most troops just spend 20 minutes there but we were able to play for 45 minutes because of our promptness. We became known for always being ready and on time. Despite being exhausted from the hike they still went and participated in the game games that night, and a star party. The next day we finished up the last of our Merit Badges. Our troop was chosen to do the closing flag ceremony for not just the week but the season. They did an outstanding job with a color guard and an honor guard. Like so many mornings our last day was a get up early day so we could get to our Bechler hike.
