Located just a few steps away from Piazza S.Maria in Trastevere, the focal point of an impressive medieval and renaissance part of Rome, the Fiordiluna ice cream parlor is a real must for gelato lovers.
Ice cream and chocolate producers engaged in spreading the culture and art of artisanal Italian ice cream and high-quality chocolate, the Pasquarella brothers make it a point to employ only natural ingredients. For this reason, their Fiordiluna revives the passion for the genuineness and authenticity of a gelato of olden days, so much in tune with the character of the neighborhood in which it is housed.

"I was fortunate enough to work at Fiordiluna, a gelateria in Trastevere. Fiordiluna makes their gelato homemade and have been in business for over 25 years in Rome. They rotate flavors based on what is in season and what ingredients they have on hand.
I looked forward to going to the gelateria every week.
I got to really know my coworkers. Both of them spoke fluent Italian but they also spoke very good English. I was able to communicate easily with them and they have become some of my closest friends in Italy. They encouraged me to speak in Italian and improve my speaking of it. I can guarantee that by the end of my internship, I am more comfortable speaking Italian and other languages with people that came into the gelateria. Because it is a touristy area, people would come in speaking languages from all over the world.
I will encourage any future students to participate in the Internship program and I could not recommend the gelateria more. It is a great internship to become more comfortable speaking Italian, meeting new people, and trying some authentic Italian gelato!"

"This semester, I worked as an intern for Fiordiluna, a gelateria in the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome. Fiordiluna is a small gelateria that focuses on natural ingredients to make the best gelato possible! [...] .
I learned how to scoop gelato, serve customers, clean, and see how gelato is made. My coworkers taught me how to make sure the scoop is perfectly dry before scooping gelato, and how to get the perfect scoop. I learned about how much Fiordiluna values high quality ingredients, and how the flavors change as new ingredients come into season.
I got to taste all of the flavors and choose my favorites (strawberry and tiramisu). [...] Throughout the experience, I had good communication with both my supervisor at Fiordiluna, Noemi, and my internship advisor Angela. Both of these things made my internship the best experience it could be [...].
I found my internship to be a substantial time commitment, so it’s important to know that going into the experience. However, I gained so much from my experience, and I recommend it to anyone who really experience the culture within an Italian gelateria!"
