Optional Elective Course - Enroll during Rome registration week
VISITING STUDENT NOTE:
Visiting Students please note that 1 Trinity course credit = 3.5 semester hours and 1.5 Trinity course credits = 5.25 semester hours. You need to check with your study abroad office and registrar’s office to see how many courses you will need to take to fulfill the minimum amount of credits you need per semester at your home institution. For example: If your school is on a 4-credit system (meaning each course is worth 4 credits) you will need to take 5 courses to transfer back a full course load to your home institution.
Each course has a maximum enrollment cap. Once this cap has been reached the course is closed and students are no longer able to register for this course. Registration is on a first come first serve basis, meaning courses are open until the enrollment cap is reached.
There is a minimum enrollment of 5 students per course. After Registration there is the possibility that some courses may be canceled if the course is under enrolled.
There is NO add/drop in Rome. What you register for during Rome registration week is your final course enrollment for the term.
Courses will have waitlist but after course registration closes courses are final.
You are advised to have back up courses planned out in case the course you want to take is filled or under enrolled.
Trinity Students: Prior to course registration, you must receive approval for all courses for major/minor credit from your advisor, major and minor departments. Please email Simon Martin, Interim Academic Director (simon.martin@trincoll.edu) if you need a syllabus.
All students have a registration hold on their account, and will not be able to register until your hold is removed on the morning of registration. All holds are removed at the same time by the registration system.
If you require academic accommodations, you must provide a letter from the Accommodation Services Office or the office who works with accommodations on your campus. Please provide a letter for the services/accommodations you will need while in Rome. Please UPLOAD an official letter by May 1st.
Trinity Students Only: Read the Pass/Low Pass/Fail Study Away Policy and Process
You will NOT register for the required Italian language course now. You will be placed in the appropriate language course by the Rome Campus language faculty. Your academic transcript will be reviewed to determine your language level.
If you have never taken Italian before, you will start at 101. Note: You CANNOT get credit for repeating a level you have already taken.
If you are at a language level higher than Italian 299 you will be placed in an Italian class at the appropriate level for you.
If you have questions or concerns about the Italian language component of the Rome Campus program, please contact Simon Martin Interim Academic Director (simon.martin@trincoll.edu).
You will register for the optional internship seminar during Rome registration week if you are interested in interning while in Rome. You will only need to enroll in the seminar at that time. Your specific placement will be determined upon arrival in Rome. Visit the Internship page to browse the internship placements that are becoming available as they are confirmed.
Internship Open Enrollment Period: During the first two weeks of the program, you will have the opportunity to learn about available internship placements and finalize your internship for the semester. During this period, all students have the option to switch in or out of the internship seminar. The final day to enroll will TBD.
The internship is a 5th course. You must be enrolled in four courses before you can enroll in the internship.
Visiting students: Please check with your home campus regarding their policy on receiving credit for this internship.
Visiting students are responsible for knowing how many courses they are required to take abroad and what the process and requirements are to bring the credit back to their home institution.
Trinity College requires all students to take a minimum of 4 Trinity credits. But your home institution could require 5. Check with your home institution on how many courses/credits you are required to take at the Rome Campus and what the process and requirements are to bring the credit back to their home institution. It is recommended you contact you study away advisor and Registrar's Office.
Please note that one Trinity course credit = 3.5 semester hours. For Example: If your school is on a 4-credit system (meaning each course is worth 4 credits) you will need to take 5 courses in Rome to transfer back a full course load to your home institution.
Visiting students should receive all necessary approvals for courses prior to course registration.
