Everyone is welcome just as they are on their own personal journey towards greater non-judgmental self-awareness.
This AYURVEDIC YOGA program welcomes all levels of yoga practitioners. posture options will be offered so that those new to yoga may practice alongside seasoned yoga practitioners. This program is offered through the lens of Ayurveda, incorporating Yogic Philosophy and Ayurvedic Principles into each class to address what is needed on any given day. Asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation are always part of a complete practice. It is recommended that you have a yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, a yoga strap, and beach towel, blanket, or cushion available for use during this program. No prior experience needed!
Lisa Cohen, RYT-500, is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Yoga Teacher certified by the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda in Stockbridge, MA. She is registered with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), as well as the Yoga Alliance (YA).
Lisa believes that everyone can benefit from the practices of YOGA, AYURVEDA, and MINDFULNESS by inviting the practitioner to observe the unique workings of their own minds and bodies through experiments with ASANA (postures) and PRANAYAMA (breath work). A deepening understanding of oneself begins by simply creating space and intention to more fully allow oneself to FEEL one's way through life - to notice the effects of diet, lifestyle, weather, seasonal changes, life changes, and emotional ups and downs. By learning to skillfully ride the waves of life's ups and downs that naturally occur to all of us, we can honor the body's inherent wisdom and maintain balance in mind, body, and spirit as is appropriate for each unique individual.
