Two Workshops at Kripalu February 27- March 1 and March 1-5
Julie is a librarian, instructional designer, antiracism auditor, and dedicated student of yoga. From 2017-2019 she worked as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Botswana, where she taught in the Department of Library and Information Studies. She loves international work and expat life, and is a passionate traveler (30 countries and counting). She cooks up all kinds of crazy ideas, like hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day or buying a Land Rover sight unseen and driving it through East and Southern Africa - then shipping it to Montana.
When she’s not in a library, Julie is practicing yoga and meditation, writing and making photographs for travel and adventure publications, hiking and backpacking, and worshiping her cat. She lives in a small house at the foot of a mountain in Missoula, Montana, on Salish Land.
Meet Katsana
Katsana’s full name is Giada Katsana Tawana Motswana Letiahau, which roughly means the Jade Kitten Lion Cub from Botswana. She was born on the campus of the University of Botswana where Julie met and fell in love with her, tricked her into a cat carrier with some tuna fish, and brought her to Montana (where she saw snow and bears for the first time - surprise!). She sleeps in the bed and walks on the table, which she’s not supposed to do, but she knows how to roll on her back and act extra cute so she never gets in trouble. She knows English and Setswana, but doesn’t follow orders in either language.
Likes: her Blue Stripey Mouse, rubber balls, food, snuggles, and going outside on her leash. Dislikes: paper bags, magpies, the vacuum, and having to be on her leash to go outside. She attended every one of Julie’s yoga teacher training classes and routinely helps her teach.
