Welcome to last issue of this year. You are reading this issue in the light of new year so the team of The ELT Practitioner wishes you a wonderful and fabulous year ahead. This issue is purely based on practices and application of ELT in classroom. First paper discusses focuses on whether English Language Teaching can look at constructing meaningful models and innovative solutions which will aid and encourage second language learners to achieve a reasonable degree of proficiency in English. Any language is learnt when a learner is immersed in an environment conducive to language learning.
The second paper discusses the advantages of using blended learning approach in making one’s English language lessons engaging, creative and meaningful provides a win-win situation for both the teacher and the students as it gives the comfort of teaching in a traditional classroom setting as well as let the students enjoy rides on the high tides of technology.
The third paper aims to identify the strategies of vocabulary-learning adopted by 72 Engineering students from TED Talks Videos and YouTube Videos. The survey is based on Schmitt’s (1997) Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLSs). The paper aims to compare the determination strategies on TED Talks Videos and YouTube Videos.
